Business Intelligence

Business intelligence (BI) refers to the technologies, tools, and practices that organizations use to collect, store, analyze, and present data in order to make better decisions. It provides a way for businesses to turn raw data into actionable insights that can be used to improve performance, increase efficiency, and gain a competitive advantage.

BI includes a wide range of tools and technologies, including data warehousing, online analytical processing (OLAP), data mining, and reporting and visualization tools. These tools are used to collect and store data from a variety of sources, such as transactional systems, social media, and external data feeds. The data is then analyzed and presented in a way that is easy to understand, so that users can identify patterns, trends, and insights that would otherwise be hidden.

BI also includes a set of best practices and methodologies for using data to inform decision-making. This includes identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) to track, defining metrics and measures to assess performance, and establishing data governance and data quality standards.
